Happy 2nd birthday to my sweetest girl . I love you more than words can express, you are my best friend and my adventure buddy! I'm so glad you have chosen me as your designated human to love! We wanted to have our first baby here when she was 2 and it's worked out perfectly . I cant wait to see her and baby boy create the cutest bond. Lucy is my buddy and always is extra sensitive when she knows I need a hug or I'm I'm sad or mad, she'll know immediately and will bring me her favorite toy or will lay her head on me for as long as I need. It's quite incredible. Lucy has the most precious quirks and is also the smartest dog I've ever met, she knows 12 words on her recording buttons to push to communicate with us, she can close doors and cabinets on command (including laptops while you are trying to work), she knows the exact moment to steal your sandwich off the counter the second your eyes divert away and your back turns, she can identify and specifically bring you up to 9 of her toys and she can escape any crate or pen in a heartbeat. God put Lucy in our lives at the exact moment she was supposed to be. Two days before we drove 4 hours to pick her out of her litter (before we could take her home 2 weeks later), we had our first ultrasound with our first pregnancy and we learned our baby's heart had stopped beating. We were so sad but still thrilled to meet our puppy. 4 weeks after we brought Lucy home and after many many complications, I was rushed to have the d&c surgery and she helped me recover mentally and physically for the weeks and months following. She truly is a blessing to us and I'm so grateful for her little life. She's my everything, my pride and joy. I try to include her in my life as much as possible and we just get each other. I love our picnics, hikes, and help just doing every day chores around the house like sorting the laundry or being the extra set of hands to carry something up the stairs. She's truly amazing and I can't wait for our kids to grow up with one of the best things life has to offer. Every kid should be able to grow up with a dog. Now Lucy since you are 2 years old, the research says you will be much calmer, but I know you and I love your unending energy. I'm proud to be your dog mama, and your dad and I love you so much
A few weeks ago we took her to Petsmart to choose her birthday presents!
...........................................
Easter was a few days before her first birthday and we just had a blast! I went to Knoxville to spend time with family for the weekend!
And the weekend before that, we had Morgan and her sweet dog Maya come for an Easter Egg hunt! Lucy remembered exactly what to do and carried her basket outside and actually hunted for the eggs, opened them up and ate the treats, and put them in her basket! It's quite amazing!!
