Protein Ice Cream Review!

Protein ice creams are all the rage right now. More and more brands are surfacing and I just wanted to share some of my thoughts on some of the leading brands! Protein ice creams are really big for me as ice cream is my hands down favorite food but my cholesterol issues keep me from being able to enjoy it but a few times a year. This is a WONDERFUL alternative for me! I especially love how there are vegan, and vegetarian options too! AND have tons of protein per serving!!! Win win and win! *these ice creams are not whole 30 approved based on some having dairy and all having some sort of added sugar*

#1 Halo Top Vegan, Dairy Free, Soy Free, Gluten Free Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream
The reason for this being my absolute favorite protein ice cream out of all of the option on the market is because of the flavors alone! They are out of this world with actual swirls of peanut butter throughout the pint with the delicious creamy chocolate base. It is divine! Just be prepared for it to taste a little different with the coconut milk base. It takes one try to get used to, but once you turn to the dark side, it is perfect;)! I love that this Halo Top line fits so well with my dietary needs of limited dairy and whole 30 lifestyle. (Found at Publix and some Walmarts if you are lucky)

#2 Enlightened Move Night Protein Ice Cream

My second favorite pint is the Enlightened movie theater popcorn! I am super impressed with almost all of the enlightened ice creams! Enlightened is a little more like ice cream you would scoop while the Halo Top is more like soft serve. This movie theater pop corn has buttery popcorn flavored vanilla ice cream for the base with ribbons of caramel and chocolate chips FILLED throughout (pictured above). It is an extremely amazing pint and with only 360 calories per pint it is just unbelievable. It is almost my first favorite but has 10mg of cholesterol per serving (because of dairy). Not bad at all but still there. (Found at Publix)

#3 Arctic Zero Brownie Batter
Now Arctic zero brownie batter takes 3rd place easily (but so so close to second) because Arctic Zero is kind of the pioneering brand to experiment with healthier protein ice cream and they get major major points for that! I am always beyond floored with the macros to this brand and the amazing flavor you get with it especially this flavor. This flavor and the cookie shake are by far my favorite flavors. This pint is very creamy and when you find a brownie chunk (don't have to search too hard) it is literally a brownie. Like bake in your home oven kind of brownie! Amazing! Hats off to you Arctic Zero! (Found in Walmart!)

#4 Breyers Delights Cookies & Creme
This Breyers protein ice cream is something else! When you take your first bite your are overwhelmed (in a good way) with chunks and pieces of Oreos! Just what you expect and want but rarely ever see in any ice cream ever! Good job Breyers! This is a very creamy delicious ice cream. I am very impressed by it's macros and overall flavor! The only down side of this pint is the slight strange aftertaste. But nothing that a sick of gum or swig of milk can't fix! (found in Publix)

#5 Ben and Jerry's Moo-Phoria P.B. Dough
My fifth favorite is not as healthy for you but significantly still healthier than regular ice cream or regular Ben and Jerry's. This Ben and Jerry ice cream has GOBS of large peanut butter cookie dough throughout the pint. Very impressive. The cholesterol and calories are a little higher in this pint than the other two brands but this might be a good transition ice cream from the full fat variety to the healthiest protein kind. The chocolate base isn't perfect but it's still good. (Found at Publix)

#6 Talenti's Gelato Created with less sugar Chocolate Swirl
The last pint on my pint reviews is this talent ice cream healthier version brand. It is not nearly as good as the other pints and still has significant cholesterol and calories. The chocolate base isn't worth it but the only redeeming quality is the chocolate ribbons within which unfortunately are far and few between....more like two small stripes for the entire pint. But if you are transitioning to healthier pints and like the Talent brand then this is for you. (Oh and good luck finding all of these pints, I got lucky and found them at a local Publix but haven't been able to find them anywhere else).

This post is not sponsored, just a girl, her thoughts, and her ice cream!:)  What are your favorites?

Love,
Kayla
