So to start off, after all the Christmas celebrations, wedding planning and more of a normal routine began. The wedding planning aspect is my favorite and it is never a drudgery to me, I love planning and I love building something so special! The beginning of the wedding planning started off going to Hobby Lobby and purchasing a clear plastic ornament to hold our Honeymoon sand in for our Christmas tree. The next stop we ordered and received our 'R' cake topper in the mail and turned it into the person making our custom designed cake, Cheryl McMillan. We then shopped at Davids bridal for the bridesmaids dresses and had a lot of trouble finding a modest enough dress! Most of the bridesmaids dresses looked more like shirts! Of the 5 we chose to try on, the very first one was it! It is so gorgeous and it will be a turquoise color!
Following the bridesmaids dresses we picked out the tux choices for the groomsmen and Cody at Men's Wearhouse! They will be all black, NO suspenders, NO weird socks, and NO bow ties! We like more of the traditional taste. I don't know what happened to the typical wedding attire because everyone is doing strange things now like bluejeans and sweaters! I know right!?!?! I couldn't imagine. For the tux we chose, there will be little turquoise accents here and there and it looks awesome if I don't say so myself! I am so fortunate to have such a similar style and opinion as Cody and vice-versa.
One of the doctors appointments included going to the dentist and having teeth whitening trays made for my teeth so I can start having a whiter smile for the wedding pictures! They say the whitening kits are painful so I really hope it isn't too bad!
The next wedding planning event was going to All Occasions Rentals to obtain a quote on all of the tables, chairs, and table runners we need at the reception.
We then typed up a photography list for my photographers as a general list to go by for my vision of the wedding pictures. We also searched for a list of songs for our DJ and chose the different songs we wanted for certain moments like our first dance, father-daughter dance etc. Next we booked my facial which will by nice to have a week before the wedding especially since I will have less than 3 weeks to plan the wedding after my graduation. EEEks! But it can be done! Invitations were researched and will hopefully be ordered soon (man they cost a fortune) :(.
To end the wedding planning, Cody and I looked around for apartments in Chattanooga since we had already done so in Knoxville. We have no idea where we will end up so might as well look in both places and around those areas.
We were thrilled to shop for apartments in the 80 degree weather. I was determined to wear my cute ugly sweater at least once since I didn't get a chance to wear it at all during the whole month of summer, I mean December. But really though it never got below 75 :/. I love cold months and this made me sad.
I know I never really took too many pictures of the reception place so I decided to do so and despite the rain, I hope you can capture a little bit of the exquisite beauty of this place and the view!
Horses galore!
Perfect picture location!
Waaaay up on top of the hill!
Nestled away from the hustle and bustle, just how Cody and I like it!
I'm not showing the bridesmaids dresses because they are a surprise but here is a picture inside Davids Bridal, the coolest place ever!
Me and my sweet mama! She always has the neatest decorations!
The whole gang at my house. We stayed up until 4:00am!
Last day it is technically acceptable to have the tree up.
Cody is so proud of his new shoes as I am proud of my selfie stick haha!
At Cody's house most everyone was asleep so I still had to get a selfie of everyone! That is my father-in-law waaaaay back there.
And this is my brother-in-law Tyler resting.
After New Years and wedding planning, I have been settling down working on my upcoming major senior project and have been preparing for this last semester. I am so nervous it makes me shake. I have still been searching for new jobs all the while. I did find out very exciting news that my sweet cousin Hannah who is on her mission will be coming back March 23rd after 18 long months of being unreachable and away. I am so thrilled she will be here for all of the last bit of wedding planning and fun! She is one of the bridesmaids!
Throughout this break starting December 11th, Cody and I did a healthy workout kickoff to lose the last few pounds during this next semester. We have done Cody's workout regimen and he has become my person trainer! I am so pleased with the results! It is so fun to workout together and cook healthy meals. We have been avoiding sweets, packaged junk food, and unnecessary carbs all while working out 5-6 days a week focusing on varying core/arms/legs/cardio each day. I feel hopeful about this next semester! Cody has really taught me a healthier relationship with food and health!
Tomorrow starts Morgan and I's annual First Robotics convention we help with every January. It is so much fun and we get to help local high school teams pick up and assemble their robots. Tomorrow is the day of set up and wow we probably will lift a collective total of 500 pounds that day! Those kits are super heavy!
One really exciting thing to look forward to help kick off this school semester is that Morgan, Mom, and I are attending the Pink Bridal Show at the Knoxville convention center this Sunday! We are so excited and I can't wait to see all of my vendors and try all of the neat samples. The best thing is the wedding dress show hosted by Davids Bridal! All of the models wear the dresses so gorgeously!! The men...eh. lol. They never look as happy. Thank you so much mama for giving us this opportunity to attend the bridal show! To finish the weekend off, my Nana is making us her famous roast dinner I have been looking forward to for so so long. It is the one meal of the year where I just allow myself to just eat and eat and eat. Every single thing, every single food dish is out of this world. My Nana is the best cook in this world hands down! School starts for me this next Wednesday and keep me in your prayers! School is so hard for me and I would appreciate the thoughts and prayers.
Have a great start of the year everyone!
Love,
Kayla Dyar (Raborn)
