I Broke my Foot.

-SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM FOR BROKEN FOOT STORY-

I recently visited Morgan and Edgar at their new home up in Kingsport Tennessee and it was gorgeous! Morgan and Edgar graciously cooked for us, took us to the local farmers market, got Kingsport's famous pretzels and donuts, looked at million dollar houses in the area and celebrated Nana's birthday!

We traveled to the top of the dirt mound to take pictures by these beautiful yellow flowers! The pictures just don't do it justice.

Morgan's neighborhood! Look at the view!!

Unfortunately once I got home I broke my foot. I was so excited to see Lucy, I was running around with her playing chase and ran full speed stubbing my right foot toes on the corner of the couch HARD. It of course hurts as it does for anyone but once I tried to move my toes I knew something was wrong. One toe was pointing more right than it normally did, was numb, and it felt like something was blocking it from bending. I immediately iced it and went to bed to try not to think about it. The next morning I went to urgent care, got 3 x-rays and the doctor was like yep, it's broken in three places. I was like of course it is.

It hurts but actually not that bad. I can't put weight on it for another 2 weeks and of course can't drive. I had to have it re-set by an orthopedic doctor and put in a boot. It stinks so much. Just when I thought things were looking up for me to be honest. But God continually is trying to get my attention and I obviously haven't found what He is wanting from me. 2020 has been rough....for everyone. For us it started out with Cody's foot surgery, then the surprise pregnancy, misdiagnosed blighted ovum, missed miscarriage, failed miscarriage, the d&c surgery, then this. THANK GOD I didn't need surgery for this. Seriously, thank God.

But at the appointment when they reset my toe, I was a nervous wreck. I had never broken a bone and I was in pain. Because of Covid they said Cody can't come back with me which honestly was not ok with me. It brought a little PTSD from the miscarriage and really messed with me. How is this ok in humanity. This is a broken world.

Not only is this non weight bearing, painful, and limiting, the thing that bothers me most is how I can't take care of Lucy. I can't play with her, chase her, take her on walks, feed her, or help her. I can't even manuver enough to feed myself right now. And of course it's during football season and Cody is gone 15+ hours a day. It's just so so difficult. Oh, and Lucy has her spaying surgery in 3 weeks. PERFECT timing right. How will I manage. I can't take off more time at work. This is NOT my year. Plus covid on top of all of this is scary and having to go into doctors offices.

All I know, is I will get through this. And I never wish this year away so so badly.

Love,

Kayla Raborn

Football Time and Lucy/Life Update

Boy, am I ready for Football season! I am ready for some sort of normalcy back into our lives. UT's first game is against South Carolina on September 26th, and Soddy Daisy started their season on time already playing two games.

We got our Soddy Daisy Football pic like 6 days after we took it! I was absolutely shocked! Usually it takes 10-11 months!

I always knew she would be a football dog! :):) My beautiful girl!

I have been doing well. After July went by, I started to mentally feel normal again and I didn't think about the miscarriage every hour of the day. I made a trip to Knoxville to spend some time with my mom in her new house and had so much fun! I got to see my cousin who is pregnant with her first baby!

This month, my cousin Hannah is due with her first baby, a girl, and this was when she was 34 weeks along! She then Katy are having the first Becker great grandkids. My cousin Nick had the first and only Dyar great grandkid over 3 years ago.

Also, this month, my cousin Nathan also is getting married. The last adult cousin to wed.

I have been overjoyed because Lucy's last booster shot (at 16 weeks) was complete and the two week wait period is over for us to go into public without worry of parvo and distemper dangers. Walks are so good for my soul. Especially taking her to my favorite Greenway walk!!!

Lucy is now fully vaccinated and in the clear to go to public places so we took her to her first dog park experience (unfortunately no dogs were there to play) and her first public walk at the Greenway! She LOVED the walk and pranced around looking at all of the new sights and people! No Fall leaves yet though!

I have a feeling we will be taking many more walks here!

Huge empty dog park!!
..........................

I have started Weight Watchers also. I need a lifestyle change and just something to wake me back up and get me into the swing of losing weight again. During my 14 week pregnancy, I lost 8+ pounds (which should have been an initial sign that something wasn't right) but those came back plus, with all of the pregnancy hormones leaving my body and now re-adjusting, and getting back on the pill for at least 3 months as my doctor advised (to make sure I don't get pregnant until 3 full cycles are complete) and then we will go from there. But I am on the blue plan and am loving it so far. 2.6 pounds down! I need to lose about 45 pounds as my doctor recommended within the next 8-11 months before we start trying again to help my chances of taking out all of the "what if's" of preventing a miscarriage.

Tic Tok egg sandwich! It really works and is so delicious!! Only 2 points too!

                                                                Grocery haul ww staples!!!

0-1 point foods (on blue plan)!!

Zero point foods!!! I love the lifestyle change and the option to have whatever you want as long as you stay within your points. No deprivation.

0pt dinner! Fat free refried beans, with fat free cheese, scrambled eggs, and olives! Very good!

1 point breakfast! Sugar free jelly, 1 pt 40 calorie toast, and a boiled egg!

1 point dinner! 1 point tortilla, fat free refied beans, fat free cheese, ground turkey, and a dollop of fat free plain greek yogurt and cherries for a side!
......................................

Also, Lucy and I have had so much fun spending quality time one-on-one since Cody is back at football. We get from 5:30pm to 8:30pm just the two of us and I also get to play with her before work too!

Can't go outside without my blanket or mom's shoe!

Summer fun! Lucy and I LOVE playing in the sprinkler and pool together!!!!

My beautiful girl!

Don't workout mom! Play with me!

                                                                        ...................................
Cody and I took a date night together on a Friday night at 6:00pm and only had to wait 45 minutes at Cheesecake Factory! Victory!! We also went to Petsmart afterwards to get Lucy some treats and new toys! We are such parents ๐Ÿ˜…. #dogmom #dogdad

LOL! Why does my hair look red and my eyes look so blue?

Waiting for dad to come home!

Thanks for always tagging along!

Fall HOUSE Decor!!!

Oh how I have been waiting for over 4 years to say that, this is my Fall HOUSE decor!! No more apartment. I honestly thought we would be moved in at the latest mid October of last year 2019, but no so once again, I had missed out on decorating our house and celebrating all of the holidays inside the house. This year and next year we will have celebrated all of the holidays in our new house (we were still majorly fixing the house up, moving, and closing out the apartment out until March 7th and then Cody and I finished our last major house project the last week of May so that knocks out all of those holiday's until 4th of July) (which we didn't even get to celebrate at all since I had my D&C surgery just days before), so Halloween will truly be our first true 'holiday' to celebrate! So that is ironic, full year circle there.

I'm just blessed we closed on the house, officially, January 13th 2020, a month before the covid craziness hit. We would still be building our house if it was delayed even just one month after that. Praise God.

1 ww point, pumpkin spice hot chocolate (because I don't enjoy coffee at all).

Almond milk with my pumpkin spice cookie straw!

My first Fall outfit of the season!!
