Pinterest Dinner!
I found this amazing 'octopus' spaghetti recipe on pinterest that I wanted to make for Cody and I! If it was edible I wanted to make this for our kids in the future but it was not just edible, it was absolutely amazing!!! Cody loved it and I can't wait to make it for my family to try!
This recipe is super simple only requiring 2 ingredients, hot dogs and dry spaghetti of your choice. We chose an all beef hot dog and 100% whole wheat spaghetti.
To serve enough for 2 people, cut 2.5 hot dogs into 3/4 inch long pieces. Then take the dry spaghetti noodles and carefully push through the hot dog pieces. It is easy to break the dry spaghetti noodles in half so it is a little easier to push 2-3 dry noodles at a time through the hot dog. I put 8-10 pieces of dry spaghetti through each piece of hot dog. It should look like this below:
Once prepared (it takes a good 30 minutes to do the previous step unfortunately so try to recruit your spouse or other family members to help), carefully place the pieces into slightly boiling water. They will stick out until the part in the water has softened and it will then slide down the rest of the way into the pot.
Cook the 'octopus's' for ~10 minutes until the noodles are soft.
Scoop out and serve in a bowl with your favorite Ragu flavor just as you would with regular spaghetti.
Looking closely, this is what the hot dogs and spaghetti should look like.
This is one of the best dishes I have had in a long time, I hope you enjoy also!

So as we all know, school is in full swing and football season has officially kicked off so to take some time together before the craziness, we took a day trip to Knoxville! The last weekend of Summer is always so sad for teachers and their families (and students of course) so we really needed this quick trip to take in every last second.
On the way we stopped by my favorite place and took a quick tour! The Mayfield Dairy!!!!!!
Hair nets people!!! 2019 vs 2016
Had to recreate this picture from 3 years ago!
We loved the free ice cream at the end too ;).
We then stopped at our favorite restaurant for dinner, Lakeside!!
And we couldn't leave without taking a picture by the tree Cody proposed at!!
Our next stop was Trader Joe's since we don't have one in Chattanooga 😢.
And before heading back to Chatt, we surprised mom and swung by and visited! She was so shocked!!!!
I loved spending some time with her, helping with dinner, looking through pictures, walking the dog, and just chatting :). I hated to go!
But luckily, to kick off the last week of summer for Cody, we had Shark week to look forward to every night! I LOVE shark week and count down the days every year. I of course have to get the shark gummies as I watch too!
We had such an amazing relaxing football and school-free weekend just the two of us. I wish we could do that every day!
With love,
