Our 26th Birthday Bash!!!!

Happy 26th Birthday to us!!!!!

July 11th was Cody's birthday!

On Cody's actual birthday night, he got home really late after football (11:30pm) and came home to my famous brownies, fun bday decorations, and presents (from everybody).

We actually celebrated Cody's birthday the weekend before since the week and following weekend would be so crazy. So the Saturday before, we woke up, ate Chick-fil-a breakfast, and I surprised Cody taking him to a driving range. Neither of us had done anything like it or even played golf! But we had an absolute blast!! We bought a $9 basket of 100+ golf balls and had at it!

Once we started to get the hang of it, it was a blast!

We then went to Dicks Sporting Goods, ate sushi for lunch, went to the bookstore, and finished the day with a dessert from Cheddar's and watched a movie at home.

My actual birthday this year, July 12th fell on a weekday also. So that night Cody (and everyone else) had presents for me to open and yummy watermelon to eat!

#muscles, couldn't help it, my dad would be proud ;)

One of my favorite gifts was from Cody, a Hei Hei from Moana! It yells just like it too! I love Hei Hei!

Funnily enough, Cody's dad's birthday is on the exact same day as mine! I made him some of my famous brownies with a card and dropped it off at his house before work that morning.

We also celebrated my birthday with my family the following weekend. They made me feel so special!

To start the fun and busy Saturday birthday bash off, Cody and I met with our cabinetry guy at 8am to choose our cabinets and granite (check the toolbar house post for the more detailed updates on this) so that went very well and was very efficient. Then we went to Polly Claire's tea room with Gigi, Nana, Mom, and Morgan!

It was such a fun experience!

The delicious tea room bites and soft vanilla scones!

Hope to not spill the tea.....herbal that is πŸ˜…

I was SO right in my element!

I picture this snapshot above being framed and put in the wall of my grand kids house to show their family what their great or great great grandmother looked like and what life looked like in the "early" 2,000's ha.

After tea we went to my apartment to change clothes and open presents.

Of course I had my buddy sit next to me πŸ’—πŸ•

Then we headed to the Lost Sea! I hadn't been here in over 15 years!! It was such a fun adventure!

When I got home later I had to organize my new tea holder before heading to the Ringgold GA rodeo with Cody!
I sure know how to pack in a lot of fun into one day!

Wow the rodeo was incredible! I had never been and Cody has only gone ~6 times in his life.

The rodeo clown was hilarious pushing the boundaries, and the barrel racing and bucking broncos were my favorite. How do those guys not die!?! Seriously! I used to ride horses and man they sure do have something out for you.

Posted this pic for attire purposes only. Felt very in place with my cowgirl hat and boots!!

My fur niece Maya just had surgery recently and is now in the cone of shame. And my fur sis Sasha on the right is starting to feel better after her multiple seizure episodes.

This is 26!!! Bring it on! This will be the best year yet! I wasn't ready AT ALL to turn 26 but now that I am on the other side of the 20's it is all the same, I feel ready! I am loving 26 so far and all that it brings! Last year was surreal due to the quarter of a century thing and feeling and looking like I'm still 14. But mainly it meant a year closer to having kids, as does this birthday. Do I feel a year more ready to be a mom? No. But surely in 3 years that will change? Maybe?

With so much love,

Morgan's Birthday/Life Update

Happy 23rd Birthday Morgan!!πŸŽ‰

We had an absolute blast in Kingspot and Knoxville for Moragn's birthday last week! I can't believe Morgan is already 23! I remember my 23rd birthday like it was yesterday. It was my first married birthday as it is Morgan's. She is entering into a great new chapter of life!

For the celebration day, we started out seeing Morgan and Edgars place together (and their "new" dog) and headed to the Kingsport Zoo!

The second we got there it POURED down rain the entire time, but once we got drenched, we accepted our fate and actually had a blast in the rain! All of the animals took shelter but we got to see the inside reptiles and other animals pretty close up! This zoo had a lot of exotic animals, I highly recommend visiting if you are ever in the area!

Pretty flamingos!

So every single outside animal took shelter like I said, all but one.... these giant guinea pigs!! It reminded me so much of myself and Cody! If I plan on going swimming, and there's a tornado outside, I am still going swimming dang it! And taking Cody with me πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚. Just look at that one's expression! LOL. I have always been like that, if I have a plan, nothing will stop me ha. That guinea pig is my spirit animal!

LOLLLLL 😏

Cody found a friend! For some reason the cows really liked him, they must know he is used to being around cows and feels comfortable.

Dinosaurs at the zoo!?! I told you it was an exotic zoo! :)

A baby roo!

After the zoo we headed back to Knoxville and Gigi and Sasha were so excited to see us!

The rest of Morgan's birthday, we walked at a nearby park, ate at Blaze pizza and ate cake and opened presents back at Gigi's house.

Funfetti cake for the win!

Gigi gave two of these chairs for our new house porch! I'm so excited!

After presents we went on a walk around the neighborhood and came across natures doing of a sink hole. I've only ever seen one in pictures or in the woods. This is scary for the houses in the area.😨

Mom took this sweet picture of Cody and I without us knowingπŸ’•.

Life Update
---------------------------

Do you see the small desk above, that is my desk now. The word of the year for me was calm, and that has been my focus with all of the change this year has brought and continues to bring. 4 weeks ago I was approached by my boss and HR manager being informed that me and my boss's job no longer exists as my group does not exist anymore, and I had 0-2 days to find a new role. They helped me find some great opportunities and ultimately I chose the position at RP working as a LEAN process improvement/process engineer on the production line. I obviously know RP and the process, I had just never had process engineering experience helping run a production line and that would help round me out as a manufacturing engineer. My previous position in innovation engineering was absolutely amazing and I am forever grateful for my boss for letting me join their team over 2 years ago. It is so bitter sweet. I hope to have my current position turn into a 2+ year role but I foresee my next position in Shaw being in quality/lab work!

....................

All last week our church had vacation bible school! I loved going after work to help make the snacks for the children! I love volunteer work and helping others so much! Cody was part of the security.

Night #1 was Jesus walking on the sea including fish sticks!

Night #2 was a lion and critters! (Into the wild theme)

Night #3 was Monkeys, wraps, and trail mix.

Night #4 was polar bears, tiger tails, and ants on a log!

We were really sad when VBS was over.

Later that next week Cody got his classroom set up all without the computers now! Much more space!

The next few weekends will be crazy, adjusting to my new position, celebrating family birthdays, and gearing up for the second half of summer football!

Stay tuned for birthday posts (I feel much better about turning 26 than I did about turning 25, I have turned the corner on my 20's and am heading to my late 20's), Morgan's official wedding pictures, etc.

Love,
Kayla Raborn
