Lucy's First Birthday!!

Lucy is one, time to celebrate!!!! We threw Lucy a huge birthday party with all of her doggie friends on April 17th 2021. Yes I understand this is 1,000% over the top but 1,000% worth it. With the miscarriage and everything that went so poorly last year, I just needed some joy and Lucy is my baby right now. She's my fur baby and has filled that hole in my heart.

My sweet sweet girl. I am so blessed to have you and so undeserving. She is my best friend, my buddy, my companion, and is the best dog I have ever known. She has changed my life. My only wish for her this birthday is that she knew how much she means to me and how much we love her. As much as I hate on the pandemic and covid and how it took so much away from me and all of us, it is the only reason we got Lucy. We lost our spot last minute when the other pregnant dog mom only gave birth to 2 dogs and not 13, and Lucy's litter had 8 all filled up but 2 people who wanted a girl said covid made their finances tight and couldn't take a dog right now. As heartbreaking as that is, we got our Lucy and I had never been so happy. When we got that news, only 1 day before we chose Lucy and brought her home was when I learned about my miscarriage. She is a gift from God.

So on that note, enjoy pics from her party and the décor! My mom saved the day and helped me set up in a hurry that morning! Thank you mom!!!

On her actual birthday, 3 days after the party, we gave Lucy her happy birthday bone and wet food mixed in with her dry food! She can now do that and we also will stop feeding her lunch, we will brush her teeth, and I will start jogging with her now! Fun fun, Lucy is one!

Her last letter board picture I am so sad but we will take one again at the 18 month mark and every year for her birthday. I loved so much doing this weekly event. Lucy got so good at taking pictures too lol. Check on the blogs toolbar for Lucy's growth updates: here

No scarf mom, no more.

'Mom gave me a bath the day before my party and I don't like'.

I decorated the kitchen, wrapped her presents, and put balloons on the mailbox. Mom also made little goodie bags for all of the dogs who came to visit, how cute!

I prepared dog friendly ice cream for the dog guests and decked Lucy's up. They ended up loving it so much!!

The hammock, tunnel, games/toys, to play with and water station for the dogs.

Lucy giving me a kiss after seeing the decorations and opening one of her presents.

Lucy's dog friends! I am so grateful they all showed up! My sisters dog and her husband came over, our neighbors and their two goldens came over, and my best friend Jordan and her golden came over.

They loved the kiddie pool. Lucy was so excited she didn't know what to do with herself. All of the dogs ran around the yard and played fetch together and just chased each other. Lucy was a little aggressive towards Mose which was weird because they were best friends before.

I took this picture on accident on selfie mode trying to capture a picture of Lucy and Mose but I wanted to post it because I look so happy. I am in my element and am loving all things about life right now!

Jordan was so sweet and got Lucy a present. Lucy loved opening it and getting her squeaky balls and treats.

After the party, Lucy was out for the rest of the night and the next day, it was great!

On her actual birthday a few days later, I took Lucy on an extremely long walk and she loved every second. Peep my dog mom hat!!!

Lucy, queen of the rock!

The gorgeous view from the back of the neighborhood!

My sweet baby girl, Lucy Cove Sunset at Midnight Moana Raborn, here's to many many more birthday's in your future! I love you so so much!

P.S.- That is her AKC registered name lol

With so much love,

Kayla and Cody Raborn
